It seems stylized cars of years past are slowly turning into more boxy vehicles. That’s why iconic vehicle maker DeLoreon’s Alpha 5 feels like a breath of fresh air. Based on the original design that most of us nerds remember from “Back to the Future,” this DeLoreon Alpha 5 is fully electric.
A Texas-based company that sold parts for the original DeLorean to keep them running is behind the Alpha 5. They were able to buy the rights to the name, and partnered with Italdesign to make the beautiful and sleek car that you see here.

Unlike the original internal combustion DeLorean, the Alpha 5 is fully electric. It also features classic gull wing doors, which raise up to look like a bird in flight. The design is sleek, new, and something that’s going to be a real pleasure to see on the road.
The Alpha 5 may come with a 100kWh battery which would offer an estimated 300 miles of range at a top speed of 155mph. This feature would be standard for the base model of the car, which implies that higher tiers would have higher specs.
DeLorean will have a full look available starting May 31st. Though, it will be only a tiny peek at what the new car can do. The Alpha 5 will premiere at Pebble Beach Concours d ‘Elegance on August 18th, and the Concept Lawn on August 21st.
