These times of advanced technology offer endless possibilities for everybody. Whatever you want is within the reach of your hand, and you can explore the vast technology options out there. When it comes to your kid, this is not far from the truth as well. There are plenty of games and ways to introduce your kids to the world of robotics and programming.

But how do you choose the best way to teach them? Stay tuned and read on to find the best programmable robot kits for kids. This list probably includes the best kit for your child and what better way to teach your child other than using toys?

    What are robot kits?

For those still new to the robotic world, robot kits are kits for constructing robots. This generally means robots that are mobile and autonomous. These are coding kits for kids that teach them how to construct a robot playfully. Another thing is that kits enable children to learn more about science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, known as STEM.

The kits are usually sold by a couple of companies. Plastics are the material most frequently used for their creation, although there can be used aluminum elements too.

More care is given for robots for kids. Even though they are made using plastics, the edges are not sharp and rather have a curved and smoothened edge. This makes the robot kits child friendly so that the parents can stay at ease.

What are the parts of the coding kits?

    The list:

    mBot STEM

Perfect for motivating kids to get to know the world of programming, this educational kit is one of the best out there. Suitable for beginners, with four expansion ports, you can use it and connect it to hundreds of devices out there. It comes with thorough instructions, and you can assemble it with a screwdriver.

    Dash and Dot

This pair of robots is one of the best coding kits for kids on the market. Made to educate children on how to code, they interact with their surroundings. They can also notice sounds and movements and can easily detect objects. These robots for kids offer puzzle-solving, sending messages as well as playing various games. The kit comes with Bluetooth Smart 4/LE, can be charged with a USB, and can work with many apps.

    Cubelets

If you are interested in building block toys, this is the right one for you. These magnetic blocks can be easily transformed into robots and actively involve children in robot building. The choice of robots that can be built is vast, and there is neither programming nor any kinds of wires involved.

You put the blocks together, and the magnet finished the job. The cubelets are programmed to think and sense and come with a rechargeable battery. An important feature is the Bluetooth Hat, used to connect the robots with mobile devices.

    Nintendo Labo

Using paper cups and cardboards, this robot will not only raise eco-awareness in your kid but also its creativity and production. This kit may be connected to a Nintendo, and any project can be transformed into a mini-game. Suitable for kids from 6-12 years, the kit enables children to create some interesting designs while using paint, stickers, or markers.

    Bioloid

Robotics for kids offers this robot as one of the most flexible ones on the market, able to educate and entertain. It is suitable not only for education but also for serious research or hobbies.

Since it is formed with servos that are serially controlled, it can be fully rotated and can switch positions. Users can make many robots with this kit, such as hexapods, quadrupeds, wheeled ones, or just robot arms.

    Raspberry Pi

One of the best coding kits for high school, this small-sized computer can be plugged into a Tv or monitor and used with the regular keyboard and mouse we know. This is a good option for kids who want to get to know how to code with the good old physical computing. It is rather low priced and works well for beginners because once you mess it up, you can fix it very quickly.

    Lego Mindstorms

Lego lovers should not consider anything else but this toy robot kit. If you are looking for both fun and education, this kit offers both because it is programmable and can be constructed. All five robot models, SPIK3R, R3PTAR TRACK3R, EV3RSTORM, and GRIPP3R can be built with it. It can also be used to create an exoskeleton, which is a rather complex construction.

Of course, it comes with servo motors, infrared sensors, cables for connection, building instructions as well a battery able to recharge.

    Sillibird STEM

If you want your child to learn to appreciate sustainable technological devices, this coding kit is the best choice. This educational robot has one difficulty level and comes with 12-in-1 options for designing.

Rather simple to manipulate, it can help children who are intimidated by technology get familiar with the coding world and maybe start to like it. The special feature it has is its ability to move on land but also in water. The solar energy used for its power and its amphibious nature makes the Sillibird one of the most unique coding kits for kids.

    Thymio 2

Robotics for kids offers this high-quality kit at a rather low price. It comes with a colorful UI design and is open source. Children are amazed by its interesting bright casing, which helps them learn easily without too much effort.

The robot kit comes with a microphone, proximity, line following ground sensors, an infrared receiver as well as actuators, USB, speakers, and a memory card. It is not only good as a coding kit for high school kids but also for anybody who enjoys playing with Legos.

    Conclusion

To sum up, education is so much better because of the coding kids for kits. These robots for kids turn on the creative spark in children and increase their productivity. Programmable robot kits can be useful to people of all ages, but mostly kids whose brain is in the process of development.

Any toy robot kit can improve children’s creativity level, concentration, stamina as well as teamwork orientation. Therefore, any of the above coding kits are a good choice for motivating your kid, improving their critical thinking, and getting them interested in the world of technology.
