Fast food giant Arby’s is adding burgers to their menu for the first time in history. Which is surprising, because when people think of quick service restaurants, they immediately think of burgers. With Arby’s cornering the market on roast beef, it was only a matter of time before they set their sights on another classic sandwich.
“Boring burgers are a fast-food staple, so Arby’s felt compelled to raise the bar with a Wagyu Steakhouse Burger. Instead of focusing on making billions of mediocre burgers, we’re taking a stance on high-quality meat that deserves to be cooked properly,” Patrick Schwing, Chief Marketing Officer of Arby’s said. “As the meat experts, we’ve spent over two years of dedicated research and development to deliver a premium burger that redefines what’s possible from a drive thru. Overdone burgers are over and done.”

The limited-edition Wagyu steakhouse burger is made of American Wagyu, which is a cross between Japanese Wagyu and high-quality continental breeds of cattle. Traditional Wagyu beef is a breed of cattle from Japan. These breeds are carefully picked out, with genetic testing to ensure only the best of the best are allowed.
Arby’s will blend 52% American Wagyu and 48% ground beef to create a 6.4-ounce burger. Which they like to point out is 50% larger than McDonald’s quarter pounder. The meat patties are cooked Sous Vide style. Which is a unique method of cooking that locks in juices and rich flavor. Producing a juicy, tender burger with a slightly pink center. They are topped with American cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, pickles, red onion, and special burger sauce. All served up on a toasted buttery brioche bun.
The new burger will be available at participating stores starting May 23rd through July 31st, 2022. Check here for the closest location.
