“Married… With Children” Getting Revival from “Family Guy” Writer

One of our favorite on-screen families is getting a revival! FOX’s “Married… With Children” stared Ed O’Neil, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate, and David Faustino, who are returning for an animated series. Alex Carter (“Family Guy“) will serve as writer and showrunner.

When you think of how well this could be pulled off, it just makes sense. They can do much wackier things with it similar to what “Family Guy” has done in the past. Or, they could go a more “F is for Family” way which is a little more realistic when it comes to the family drama. With the cast voice-acting, they have a lot of different options.

“Married…With Children” had 11 seasons on FOX, running from 1987 to 1997. It was one of the most watched family sitcoms at the time alongside “Roseanne.” There was a spinoff show called “Top of the Heap” which also starred Matt LeBlanc from “FRIENDS,” but it was short-lived. Another prospective show would have featured a recently divorced adult Bud who moved back to his childhood home after his parents won the lottery. That show unfortunately never got off the ground.

So far the animated series doesn’t have a home yet. We’ll keep you updated on this news because quite frankly it sounds awesome. Stay Tuned!
