Police in California’s Bay Area intercepted a package allegedly ordered by a 15-year-old boy that contained roughly 50 doses of LSD. The acid was hidden between two Magic: The Gathering cards inside a singular card protector, which the teen ordered online from a foreign country.
The Solano County District Attorney’s Office is considering charges. If this was intentional, the teen could be faced with probation and community service. Worst case would be juvenile detention, unless they are tried as an adult. It’s going to be dependent on what the investigation reveals, as 50 doses of LSD is quite a bit. The teen could also be charged with intent to distribute.

The Benicia Police Department has warned parents to keep track of what their kids are ordering online and from where. Instagram, Snapchat, and WhatsApp are platforms that are being utilized to order illegal drugs from. It’s illegal to send illicit drugs through the mail, it’s also illegal to receive them but only if it is proven that the recipient knew about it and arranged for it.
Kids will go to pretty far lengths to get what they want. Whether that’s waiting for a “cool” older person to buy them a pack of cigarettes, or navigating the dark web to buy drugs. If this was intentional, hopefully the teen learned his lesson, and won’t be doing that anymore.
What we don’t want to see from this is the parents blaming Magic: The Gathering again for promoting Satanism and drug use.
