If you were one of the many fans who was less than impressed with the casting of fresh faced Tom Holland as the modern Indiana Jones-alike action hero in the upcoming adaptation “Uncharted,” there’s a nice little alternative that may be more to your taste.
The official “Uncharted” movie novelization is coming next week, written by acclaimed novelist S.D. Perry, known for her “Aliens vs Predator”, “Resident Evil” and “Star Trek” titles. Most thrilling for fans of the series, the original voice of tomb raiding hero Nathan Drake, Nolan North, is providing the narration for the entire audio book.

“I get to do Antonio Banderas, a little bit of Mark Wahlberg and put on my own Boston accent a little bit,” North said of the news. Hearing North’s approximation of Banderas’ velvet voice sounds like it’s going to be worth the price of admission alone, but even better is the news that North is bringing back his own original touch for the voice of Nathan Drake himself. Of the hero, North said, “I didn’t do Tom Holland, I kind of just did me. I tried to young him up a little bit.”
North first voiced Nathan Drake in the characters first appearance in “Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune” in 2007. A massive hit for the PlayStation 3 system, “Uncharted” went on to spawn a hugely popular franchise spanning multiple games and spin offs across several consoles.
“Uncharted: The Official Movie Novelization” by S.D. Perry, narrated by Nolan North, is available for pre-order at Amazon now.
“Uncharted” the film hits theaters on February 18th, 2022.
