We can totally understand if you forgot Disney+ was working on “Moana The Series.” It’ll be an animated continuation of the Princess of Motunui’s adventures following her 2016 film. David G. Derrick Jr. will direct.
Disney Animation officially announced the news in a Twitter post over the weekend.
Derrick Jr. was a story artist on “Moana,” as well as Disney’s “The Lion King” (2019), “Raya and the Last Dragon,” and “Encanto.” This will be his directorial debut.
No release date or casting information is known yet. We’re hoping at the very least, Auli’i Cravalho will return to voice the title character.
You can catch “Moana” and other iconic Disney titles on Disney+ now.
