Fiona Dourif Channels her Dad as Charles Lee Ray in SYFY’s “Chucky”

Of all the horror franchises out there, only one seems to have stood the test of time without becoming a poor parody of itself. Be it because of retaining the guiding hand of creator Don Mancini, or still boasting the legendary voice talent of Brad Dourif, the “Chucky” franchise is still delivering fantastic fan-pleasing entries decades on.

The latest entry in the original series timeline (entirely separate from 2019’s standalone spin off “Child’s Play“), is SYFY original series “Chucky,” which continues the long running adventures of the titular doll inhabited by the murderous soul of serial killer Charles Lee Ray.

Back in 1988, the human form of the villainous Charles Lee Ray was played by the inimitable voice of Chucky (Dourif), but time has been marching on, and it seems things needed an update to keep Charles looking spry and young for flashback scenes in the new show. There’s only so much you can do with foundation and a snapchat filter after all.

Dourif’s real life daughter, Fiona Dourif (“Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency,” “The Blacklist“), has joined her father on screen in two previous entries in the series, playing Nica Pierce in both “Curse of Chucky” (2013) and its follow up, “Cult of Chucky” (2017).

Now, Fiona is taking one step closer to following in her father’s talented footsteps, by playing the role of Charles Lee Ray herself. With a her natural genetics and a touch of prosthetics, Fiona appears in the most recent episode of SYFY’s “Chucky” as an absolute dead ringer for her father’s portrayal of the character.

Already critically acclaimed, “Chucky” is currently airing on USA and SYFY.
