Every year, we get a new sports game as an update to real-life happenings. On top of that, developers are constantly searching for ways to improve the mechanics, graphics, gameplay so that the game will put you in the mindset of an athlete and show you how the sport feels from their perspective.

Sports games are great just because most of them allow multiplayer and they can bring hours of fun when you play against your friends.  Over the years, sports games grew from being a simple 1vs1 competition to huge games with plenty of options from the campaign to managing a team and online competitions.

So, if you are a sports lover, make sure to stick around since we will highlight the best sports games for this year.

    FIFA 22

If you didn’t know, FIFA is the most popular sports video game franchise in the world. The game franchise started decades ago when athletes had boxy heads and didn’t feel that realistic. Over the years, they sold more than 325 million copies, and this year we got their latest jewel in their collection.

FIFA 22 comes with plenty of new features and visual updates. The game is supported on current-gen platforms like PS5, and they offer many interesting things like Career mode, improved gameplay and physics, Ultimate Team, Volta, Pro Clubs, and much more.

    NBA 2K22

If you are a basketball fan, then this is the perfect game for you. With close to 100 million copies sold, it is the best-selling basketball game in history. Unlike most other games, the 2K franchise doesn’t have exclusive rights from the NBA, so there can be other basketball games.

But that doesn’t affect their player base since it is the best and most real-like version of a basketball game you can find. You can play with all the best power forwards in this TwinSpires.com list: edge.twinspires.com/nba/the-best-power-forwards-in-nba-history/

Currently, their biggest competitor is NBA Life, but the truth is, they are falling behind in terms of graphics, in-game features, and the overall feel of the game.

Their latest version was released a month ago, and they introduced many updates to their most played modes like MyTeam, MyCareer mode, WNBA, and much more.

    Madden NFL 22

Here we have an American Football game and EA decided to name this gaming franchise Madden NFL just to avoid confusion and arguing between people. Most people are surprised to hear that his gaming franchise dates back to 1990, and it is by far the most popular sports game in the United States.

Over the years, Madden NFL was sold in more than 130 million copies and there is a good reason for that. First of all, American Football is a sport that is with a lot of physical contact and is harder to recreate in a game. That’s why there is low to no competitors where we talk about Triple-A NFL game.

Their new game comes with some of the best-looking graphics we’ve seen so far in a sports game and some impressive updates in their features.

For example, they included a Franchise Mode which is really fun to play, as well as, “The Yard” with many updates from the previous version and many other things.

It is a truly impressive game that every sports fan would love.

    UFC 4

Here we have the fastest progressing game of the bunch, with more than 3 million copies sold, but the franchise was first released in 2010. Over the years, UFC has become one of the fastest-growing sports that grew from a few million to 278 million fan base in 2017, and now the sport holds 1.1 billion fans from 163 countries.

Obviously, such a large sport deserves the attention of game developers, and fortunately, EA is here to save the day. Their latest mixed martial arts fighting game is really fun to play. With some impressive mechanics and lifelike movement, you can compete in the octagon and try to stay alive.

Their new game includes new innovative mechanics, revamped clinch system, updated takedowns, and some impressive graphics where you can see the athlete’s sweat.

You can start a Career Mode and learn more about what its like to be a professional fighter, or enjoy a casual match with your friend on a 1v1 competition.
