That’s right, don’t call Kanye West by his old name anymore. A judge has just approved his new name of just “Ye.” That’s Ye, with no middle and no last name.
On Monday October 18th, a Los Angeles judge approved the petition submitted by the ‘artist’ formerly known as West to change his name officially. We’re not sure exactly what prompted the change but you can probably assume that the ballots for his presidential run will include the new name. And that a logo for his albums is coming soon. Something similar to what Prince did when he changed his name to a symbol… maybe.
Back in 2019, Ye announced a 2024 Presidential run, and a possible name change. No one was sure if he’d do it, but apparently he’s followed through on at least part of that statement. Of course back then he had wanted to change his name to “Christian Genius Billionaire Kanye West.” So I guess we’ll see if this name sticks.
