Queen Elizabeth II Must Forgo Her Nightly Martini Say Royal Doctors

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II has been told to stop drinking that evening martini! It’s not as though Queen Elizabeth was ever a heavy drinker, but now due to doctors advice she will have to cut back to only special occasions.

At the age of 95, it would seem that the one glass of alcohol a day, be it wine or a martini has benefited her. It could be due to that single glass that she’s had such longevity. Drinking (for women) 5 ounces of wine, 12 ounces of beer, or 1.5 ounces of liquor can have some amazing benefits. Part of that being you become less likely to have a heart attack, stroke, or hardened arteries.

“The Queen has been told to give up her evening drink which is usually a martini. It’s not really a big deal for her, she is not a big drinker but it seems a trifle unfair that at this stage in her life she’s having to give up one of very few pleasures.”

A family friend to Vanity Fair

Now she’ll have to skip out on one of the luxuries that she’s put into her routine because of doctor’s orders. Don’t worry though, she’s otherwise healthy. She’s been advised to cut back because medical professionals want her to stay fit and fiddle for her upcoming Platinum Jubilee celebration next June. Which will celebrate her 70th year as reining monarch of Britain.

Queen Elizabeth II is the longest-reigning ruler of Britain, and is in fourth place of the longest-ruling monarchs in history. To get the number one spot, she’ll have to get to 72 years, 111 days, which would beat the current #1- King Louis XIV of France.

We’re under the assumption that the only reason that she’s been told to stop is because even imbibing a small amount can impair a persons coordination and reaction time. There’s an increase of a risk of fall and household accidents. We’ve already seen her walking with a cane, so they may just want to be very careful now that she’s hit her mid 90s.
