If you grew up in the 90s, then you might remember the amazing card set that Marvel put out called Marvel Masterpieces. Painted by Joe Jusko the cards were premium art of some of our favorite Marvel characters. The cards artwork is contributed to the 90’s trading card boom and one of the reasons they became so popular. Even if you didn’t collect or read the comics in the 90’s you probably had a binder of cards.
In 2016, Upper Deck returned the Masterpiece series to its roots with an all-new set of Jusko cards. Since then a book was published in 2018 and now these covers will honor one of the most iconic artists in Marvel history.
I’m ridiculously excited for these. On the covers you will see some of his classic paintings straight from his original collection. They will have characters such as Storm, Iron Man, She-Hulk, Black Widow, The Thing, Spider-Man, Wolverine vs. Sabertooth and many more. These variants are going to go fast and likely be sold to those who aren’t familiar with the artists origin because they are so beautifully done. If you want to ensure you get them you will have to add instructions to your pull list at your local comic shop.
