Josh Ruben, director of “Werewolves Within,” has his sights set on another dark property. Not to reboot necessarily, but to continue the existing narrative. Once upon a time in 1990, Sam Raimi wrote and directed a little film called “Darkman,” which starred Liam Neeson.
The plot was based on a short story Raimi had written, sorta his way of paying respect to the classic movie monsters of Universal’s. The film remains one of those genre offerings people have vague memories of seeing on a hazy weekend.
Apparently Ruben is very keen on the property, having mentioned it as a ‘dream project’ multiple times; most recently during a stop by DreadCentral’s podcast Development Hell.
Obviously this isn’t any kind of actual…reboot news or anything, but we could get behind this idea. We’ll let you know what else we hear about this and other news.
“Werewolves Within” is currently available to stream on Amazon and Apple+.
