While it’s admittedly not much, this comic starts off what I assume will be a long line of alligator Loki fanfiction. If you’ve been keeping up with the show on Disney+, you will recognize the character from the Loki that greeted the main Loki in one of the episodes. I don’t want to be too spoilery if you haven’t watched it. Aalligator Loki has been getting a lot of love online and now thanks to Keiid on Twitter, we have a small glimpse into what his origin story is.
One thing that many people are wondering in the show and with the alligator character is whether or not it’s just a humanoid Loki shapeshifted into alligator form. For the sake of cuteness I would hope that there was an alternate reality where all of Asgard was alligator. But it could very well be the former and he maybe just couldn’t transform back.
If you remember Loki has always been a notorious shapeshifter. He once shapeshifted into a snake to trick his brother Thor and then stabbed him.
There was also the time he shapeshifted into a horse to distract Svaðilfari, who then bore his son Sleipnir, who was an eight legged horse. Also described as one of the “Best horses” perhaps due to his relation to Loki.
