There’s no denying that jailbreaks have been in very short supply but, just recently, we have begun to see more and more utilities being released. Unc0ver jailbreak is the latest one, with support for A7-A13 64-bit ARM devices on iOS 11 to iOS 14. If your device is covered by this and you want to start jailbreaking, read on to find out how.

    Download Unc0ver Jailbreak

There are two methods to choose from:

    Method 1: Unc0ver IPA File

    1. Back up your device using iCloud or iTunes
    2. Open Safari browser and navigate to the Unc0ver jailbreak download page
    3. Tap the download button and follow the on-screen directions – when the Unc0ver icon appears on your home screen, the download is complete
    4. Now open your iOS settings app and tap on General
    5. Go into Profiles and tap the Unc0ver profile
    6. Tap on Trust, close Settings, and tap on the Unc0ver jailbreak icon on your home screen
    7. Tap the large Jailbreak button on the app home screen and leave your device alone – when it resprings, you should see Cydia on your home page. Congratulations! You have successfully jailbroken your device!

    Method 2: Using AltStore

AltStore is an unofficial app installer with a difference. It requires your Mac or Windows computer to install the app onto your device and to refresh the apps at least once a week to stop them from crashing. This is done using AltServer, a desktop companion app, and iTunes Wi-Fi Sync. All the details can be found at the download link below.

    1. Download AltStore, following the guide at the link
    2. Launch Safari browser and open the Unc0ver download page
    3. Download Unc0ver jailbreak
    4. When the icon appears on your home screen, open AltStore
    5. Tap on My Apps and tap on the + button at the top of the screen
    6. Tap on Unc0ver 5.3.1, and the jailbreak will begin installing
    7. When you see the Cydia icon on your home page, Unc0ver jailbreak is installed

    What is Un0ver Jailbreak?

It is one of the latest jailbreak utilities to be released and is proving to be incredibly popular; it was developed by pwn20wnd to work on iOS 11 to iOS 13.5 and is a stable, reliable utility. It works on a  range of devices – if your device is not in the list below, it doesn’t yet have support:

    • iPhone XS and XS Max
    • iPhone XR
    • iPad Mini (2019)
    • iPad Air (2019)
    • iPhone X (only iOS 12)
    • iPhone 8, 8 Plus
    • iPhone 7, 7 Plus
    • iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6S, 6S Plus
    • iPhone SE
    • iPhone 5S
    • iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max
    • iPad Mini (5th generation)
    • iPad Air 1
    • iPad Air (2019, 3rd generation)

    Unc0ver Jailbreak Features:

Unc0ver jailbreak is packed with features, all the usual ones you expect from a jailbreak and more. Before we talk about those, it’s worth noting that Unc0ver is regularly updated with security and stabilization measures and lots of new features. Some of the recent updates have brought about the following features:

    • A choice of dark and light themes
    • All app settings now have a description with them that tells you what system architecture and firmware versions are supported, along with what the setting does
    • Full support for iOS 13 or above on all A12 and 13 devices.

Here’s what else Unc0ver offers you:

    • File system access
    • Ability to dumpAPTickets
    • Auto-updates can be disabled
    • Get-task-allow can be enabled
    • Export TFP0
    • Refresh icon cache
    • Memory limits can be increased
    • Unsigned IPA files can be installed
    • Load daemons/reload system daemons
    • OpenSSH can be installed
    • Boot Notice can be overwritten
    • App revokes can be disabled
    • Cydia cache can be reset
    • Restore RootFS
    • Reinstall Cydia
    • Loads more

    Cydia Substrate

Like most jailbreaks, Unc0ver relies on Cydia substrate. This is the platform behind Cydia that allows us to make modifications to the code and the software without having to access the source code physically. Plus, with the Cydia Package Manager, you get to install all your favorite libraries, tweaks, mods, and more.

However, Unc0ver is semi-untethered so, whenever your device has to be rebooted, you will need to reactivate the jailbreak.

    How to Remove Unc0ver Jailbreak

If you want or need to get Unc0ver off your device, it is pretty simple with the built-in Restore RootFS utility:

    1. Launch Cydia and tap on Installed
    2. Delete each tweak, mod, etc. that you installed manually
    3. Open Unc0ver jailbreak
    4. Tap on Settings and toggle the options for Refresh Icon and Restore RooftFS (Rec0ver)
    5. Tap Jailbreak or Rejailbreak on the main Unc0ver screen

No wait – do NOT do anything with your device as your root filesystem is being restored, and that may take a while. When it’s done, the RootFS message will appear on your screen – tap OK, and the jailbreak is removed. Unc0ver is the safest, most reliable jailbreak we have today, so try it on your iPhone or iPad now and get back to doing what you love the most.
