Prepare to be afraid of the dark all over again. Frictional Games has given their latest spine-tingling adventure in the Amnesia series an October 20 release date. “Amnesia Rebirth” is the direct sequel to their highly-successul title, “Amnesia: The Dark Descent.” It tells the story of Tasi Trianon, a woman suffering from intense physical and mental trauma. She must survive a terrifying desert hellscape as she searches for answers about herself and the world around her.

As Thomas Grip, creative director at Frictional Games, explains:

“While Rebirth will contain the terrifying encounters and sights you expect from an Amnesia game, it has a lot more focus on narrative than previous entries in the series. We want the player to form a strong bond with Tasi and intimately share her tribulations. This will not be your run-of-the-mill horror experience.”

The release date was revealed at the end of the game’s newest trailer. During the almost two minute trailer, we see Tasi exploring a desert and abandoned buildings. Outside, a bright and unforgiving expanse of sand threatens to consume Tasi. Meanwhile, inside the buidings far more terrifying things await. Creatures we only see for a split second before they charge at the camera. Like previous Amnesia titles, Tasi will have to maneuver through decrepit and dark corridors as she unravels the mysteries of this new environment.

“Amnesia Rebirth” is launching on PC and PS4. It promises to be just as frightening of an experience as we have come to expect from an Amnesia game. So get ready to wake your neighbors with your screams of terror.
