Season 2 of “His Dark Materials” just got another pretty gorgeous teaser from HBO and HBO Max, which ALSO shares that the show will return sometime in November 2020.

Based on Phillip Pullman’s bestselling trilogy, “His Dark Materials” season 2 looks to adapt novel The Subtle Knife. Lyra (Daphne Keen) ventures to her first world beyond her own, and meets another dimensional traveler, the young Will Parry (Amir Wilson), who becomes her companion for the rest of the series. As Lyra’s destiny is intertwined with the Golden Compass, Will’s is to possess the Subtle Knife, a blade so sharp it can carve doors between worlds.

Mrs. Coulter (Ruth Wilson), Lord Boreal (Ariyon Bakare), and Lee Scoresby (Lin-Manuel Miranda) are all set to return in season 2. They’ll be joined by newcomers to the show John Parry (Andrew Scott), Ruta Skadi (Jade Anouka), and Dr. Mary Malone (Simone Kirby).
