Joanna Cole has passed away at the age of 75. If you are a child of the 90s then you without a doubt know about the amazing series of books called The Magic School Bus by Joanna Cole. I distinctly remember the library days where Mrs. West our librarian would read to us the Magic School bus. I always loved how the pictures always came out and little did I know it was actually learning at the same time.

The Magic School Bus Inside the Human Body: Joanna Cole, Bruce ...

“Joanna Cole had the perfect touch for blending science and story,” said Dick Robinson, Chairman, President and CEO, Scholastic, who publishes The Magic School Bus series. “Joanna’s books, packed with equal parts humor and information, made science both easy to understand and fun for the hundreds of millions of children around the world who read her books and watched the award-winning television series.”

Joanna was born in Newark, New jersey on August 11th, 1944. As a child she loved science and has said that she actually had a teacher that reminded her of Miss Frizzle. Not only were her books legendary she also published over 250 books in her career! Who could forget the timeless The Magic School Bus series that ran on PBS for 18 years. It inspired a generation to dive deeper into science.

How I Was Adopted by Joanna Cole

Joanna thank you for my childhood and for the many books you have given us. I know I didn’t know you personally but you touched my life more than you realize. Thank you.
