“God of War: B is for Boy” is a (Mostly) Kid-Friendly ABC Storybook

Have you ever wondered what it was like growing up with Kratos as your teacher? He’s great at teaching you self-defense and hunting, not so much at teaching you everything else. Well, a new satirical ABC storybook will show you exactly how Kratos teaches Atreus the ABC’s of the Nine Realms. With bits of Kratos’ questionable wisdom thrown in, Atreus is certainly going on an interesting learning journey.

Published by Insight Editions, “God of War: B is for Boy” is made in collaboration with the God of War studio Sony Santa Monica. This adorable storybook is filled with whimsical art of the father and son on a journey to deepen their relationship while exploring the unknown. In fact, the father and son relationship is the focal point of the storybook. Here’s the official description for the book:

“In this humorous take on Sony Interactive Entertainment’s God of War franchise, Kratos teaches his son Atreus the ABC’s of the Nine Realms, including lessons learned from Kratos’s past mistakes. Kratos fills the book’s pages with the essential vocabulary from the world of the game, imparting his questionable (at times) wisdom in an irreverent and entertaining style.”

Come along as Kratos teaches his son Atreus the ABC’s of the nine realms with God of War: B is For Boy. This new humorous take on @PlayStation’s God of War is written by @ASMRobinson and features original artwork by @RominaTempest. Preorder your copy: https://t.co/LhmD2wsvzs pic.twitter.com/7Hy3GsP2cD

Author Andrea Robinson and illustrator Romina Tempest describe this new book as an “ABC storybook for adults.” It will add some humor to a story that is otherwise pretty lacking in funny moments. After all, being the God of War doesn’t leave a whole lot of time to joke around. Especially after you have brutally massacred as many gods as Kratos has.

You can pre-order “God of War: B is for Boy” on Amazon. The storybook is set to release on September 1. You may want to read it over before you share it with your kids though. In Kratos fashion, a few of his bits of wisdom may not be kid-friendly.
