We are so pleased to report that the annual Etheria Film Festival will still be happening in 2020. True, it won’t be at the usual location- the historic Egyptian Theater in Hollywood- but thanks to AMC’s streaming service Shudder, you’ll be able to catch all 9 short films.

Beginning June 19th, horror fans can stream (or scream, as autocorrect keeps trying to make it) all 9 offerings from the 2020 festival on Shudder. If you are unaware, the Etheria Festival celebrates female filmmakers across every genre.

“The 2020 lineup is mind-blowing,” says Etheria Director of Programming Heidi Honeycutt in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. “There’s some seriously terrifying stuff in there, as well as some truly beautiful, funny, and heartbreaking films. I’m very excited about our partnership with Shudder and what it means for our filmmakers.”

Shudder is AMC Networks’ premium streaming service for horror, thrillers, and the supernatural. The 9 short films will be available to watch starting June 19th through to July 20th, and new members can sign up for a 30-day free trial with promo code ETHERIA at the Shudder website.

Proud to be hosting horror shorts from this year’s #EtheriaFilmFest on Shudder next month! https://t.co/hGWjCjEMN0

A full Etheria Film Festival retrospective collection featuring selected films from 2014-2019 will be released on digital streaming by The Horror Collective beginning with Season 2014 on July 23rd via Amazon. We’ll let you know when it hits.

Mary Anne Butler (Mab) has been part of the fast-paced world of journalism since she was 15, getting her start in album reviews and live concert coverage for a nationally published (print) music magazine. She eventually transitioned to online media, writing for such sites as UGO/IGN, ComicsOnline, Geek Magazine, Ace of Geeks, Aggressive Comix (where she is still Editor-in-Chief), Bleeding Cool (where she was News Editor), and now Nerdbot as Editor-In-Chief. Over the past 10 years, she’s built a reputation at conventions across the globe as a cosplayer (occasionally), photographer (constantly), panelist and moderator (mostly), and reporter (always). Interviews, reviews, observations, breaking news, and objective reporting are the name of the game for the founder of Harkonnen Knife Fight, a Dune-themed band with an international presence. Though she be but little, she is fierce.
