Although it never mentions COVID-19 I think it goes without saying that’s the main reason behind the push. The movie was originally set to come out March 20th.
As for A Quiet Place 2 Paramount had confirmed the delay. In a statement they said “After much consideration, and in light of the ongoing and developing situation concerning coronavirus and restrictions on global travel and public gatherings, Paramount Pictures will be moving the worldwide release of ‘A Quiet Place Part 2. We believe in and support the theatrical experience, and we look forward to bringing this film to audiences this year once we have a better understanding of the impact of this pandemic on the global theatrical marketplace.”
Director John Krasinski also chimed in on the news too on a post saying.
It’s also important to note that both Mulan and Onward chinese release were canceled. And production has halted on Mission Impossible 7, The Amazing Race, and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
