Hi! I am the Managing Editor for Nerdbot.com I enjoy watching anime, learning about new things and keeping up with Nerd Culture. I love writing and hope to introduce people to things that they may not have known about before through my articles.

There has been a new announcement by the city of Anaheim that says that any gathering over 250 people must be either postponed or cancelled. Wondercon put out the statement below.

“To protect public health and slow the rate of transmission of COVID-19, the California Department of Public Health announced a recommendation that gatherings and events of more than 250 people should either be postponed or cancelled. Comic-Con (organizer of WonderCon) will abide by this recommendation. Therefore WonderCon Anaheim, scheduled for April 10-12, 2020 in Anaheim, California, will be postponed until a later date.  We will begin processing refunds in the coming days.

We continue to work closely with officials in San Diego and at this time no decision has been made regarding the rescheduling of Comic-Con slated to take place this summer; July 23-26, 2020. We urge everyone to follow the recommendations set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and Preventionand your local health officials.”

Many conventions have been cancelled or postponed including Emerald City Comic Con and a handful of others. Likely more to be postponed in the future. With no word on how long these rules are going to be in place it makes it hard to gauge how far into the future we will be seeing cancellations. Not only that but many of the vendors and distributors are opting not to make appearances.

This story is developing.
