    Today is Pokemon’s 24th Birthday!

Can you imagine life without Pokemon? For a lot of us it’s pretty hard. But one of the greatest memories I have is when Pokemon first came out and my brother and I were surprised with not only new Gameboys but a copy of red and blue. It was one of the most defining days of my life. That was when my descent into video games really began. Being told not to play at the dinner table and slyly playing under it with the volume down.

In fact the phantom music that sometimes plays in my head is the same as when a wild pokemon appears. And though I love Bulbasaur, my starter was Squirtle.

Many people are celebrating Pokemon Day with fanart or just tweeting out their memories.

happy #PokemonDay ! growing up with this series really changed me, love you Pokemon! #ポケモン pic.twitter.com/ol0rVtRlF2
