Sip Wine and Sleep In a Giant Wine Barrel

Do you need a vacation? I know I do. And somewhere where I could literally disconnect and drink the day away would be amazing. Well Quinta da Pacheca has somewhere just for people like me. You can sip wine and sleep in a giant wine barrel, and no one will bother you. Except to see if you need a refill of course.

Douro, Portugal is a beautiful place where you can stay on a 280 year old wine estate with a 140 acre vineyard. It would be a great place to stop time for a few days before getting back to the grind. Especially now that the new year is upon us.

Each suite, or giant wine barrel is 98 feet. You get a great view and a skylight so the room feels a lot bigger. It’s about $275 to stay for one night but you can sleep literally on a vineyard. Pretty romantic if you ask me. Also they all face away from each other for privacy reasons. And there is a curtain in the front, just in case. Enjoy local Portuguese wine, or discover Greek and Italian wine that you can take with you and enjoy at this stunning location. This will certainly be an unforgettable experience.

All in all it looks really comfy. We’re definitely putting this on our Bucket list, or Barrel list? Whichever works better in this instance.

What is the coolest place you’ve ever stayed? Tell us in the comments!
