The hype for the new Mortal Kombat movie has been increasing with every casting choice made. Although slowly since filming hasn’t even begun. We just know a few things, and luckily one of those few things is that hard R rating, baby! Plus fatalities!? Who could ask for more?

Since it's already been stated by other members of the team, I'm gonna put this one to bed. MK WILL be R-Rated and for the first time EVER, FATALITIES will FINALLY be on the big screen (and no I'm not gonna say which ones) You'll just have to wait for the movie & see!!! 😉 pic.twitter.com/aVTewH4t28

The film’s writer himself, Greg Russo, confirmed all of this on Twitter (see above).

Mortal Kombat is a media franchise centered on a series of video games, originally developed by Midway Games’ Chicago studio in 1992.

    The 2021 cast itself includes:

Liu Kang – Ludi Lin (Black Mirror, Power Rangers)

Sonya Blade – Jessica McNamee (The Meg, Sirens)

Kano – Josh Lawson (Superstore, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues)

Sub-Zero – Joe Taslim (Warrior, The Raid, Star Trek Beyond)

Jax – Mechad Brooks (Supergirl, True Blood)

Mileena – Sisi Stringer (Bloody Hell)

Raiden – Tadanobu Asano (Thor: Ragnarok, Mongol: The Rise of Genghis Khan)

Of course there are so many names missing and we hope they get cast soon so we can confirm which characters we are getting.
