Happy Easter and Passover and Sunday everybody!! 💐💕 I’m so excited to share this, my first ever collab with my friend and constant inspiration @luxeandthelady (who’s real name is also Jessica!) We’ve been looking for a collab to do together for a while and with the Springy holidays coming up (and the #pieartanimalscollab happening now until May 12th) she suggested we tackle Disney’s Bambi. Check out her page this afternoon to see Bambi’s good buddy Thumper! 🐰 Jessica’s super Kawaii treats have always been a delight, but it’s her photo styling and sense of design that really blow my mind… I hope you love her work as much as I do! ⠀⠀ Now for me it’s time finish the last bit of tidying before the family arrives – we’re hosting Easter this year and as my son said “the Easter bunny is going to feel bad for coming here and dump all the eggs in the garbage if we don’t get the yard looking nicer” 😂 ⠀⠀ What are you baking this weekend? Any family traditions involving your own special treats? Share in the comments below! I love hearing about all the unique things people create for these big family holidays 😊💕 ⠀⠀ Oh! And before I forget – after your are done checking out Jessica’s fab Thumper pie – head over to my friend @coderxbaker who has just posted a gorgeous Bambi pie too! So much glorious Pie Art this year 🥰 Viva la Pie Art! ⠀⠀ #bambi #disneyfamily #easterpie #easterdessert #happyeaster #bambiandthumper #disneyfanart

Stan the Man. ⠀ When I was 7 or 8 I had a book called “How to Draw Comics The Marvel Way”, and man, that thing was my bible. I spent hours pouring over its pages and sketching – in particular the page that showed “the proper proportions for men and women” (problematic in today’s world, but at the time I took it as gospel 😜.) As I got older I moved away from Marvel and DC a bit as Vertigo, Dark Horse, Image, IDW, SLG, and a zillion other publishers illuminated my teenage brain… but I’ll always come back to that one Marvel book. The one that kicked off my life long love affair with the world of comics. ⠀ I met Stan Lee at SanDiego Comic Con years ago – he was so sweet. He signed my notebook 😊 In subsequent years I would spot him in the crowd and he always had a smile on his face. Any panel he was on he was always so excited and enthusiastic about whatever they were talking about. Whatever else you can say about the man, it was clear he genuinely loved comics, and his fans. ⠀ Like everyone else, I’ve enjoyed his cameos in the Marvel movies, and have passed on that love to my son… who would embarrass the crap out of me by pointing and shouting “Stan Lee!!!” at any white haired man in sunglasses we would pass on the street 😂 But I guess he won’t be doing that anymore… ☹️ ⠀ This pie is my humble tribute to the man, who along with Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko brought so many things that I love into this world… I hope he would have liked it. Excelsior Mr. Lee. And thank you. #stanlee #stantheman #stanthemanlee #marvelcomics #ripstanlee #marvelstudios #marvelzombies #marvel #marvelfanart #marvelfan #marvelfans #comiccon #sdcc #comicbooks #comicbooknerd #foodart #pie #cake #cookies #superhero #superheroparty #excelsior #thanksgivingpie #io9 @io9dotcom
