It’s no secret that Coca Cola got it’s beginnings by being a medicinal tonic. And when I say medicine I mean that it was chock full of that yayo. When Coca Cola was first created, back in the 1800’s Colonel John Pemberton first created this drink due to his addiction to morphine after the American Civil War. First called Pemberton’s French Wine Coca nerve tonic. Now you may wonder why this is relevant, but he created it for people in similar positions to himself. It would appear that the Coca Cola company is now trying again to get us dependent on them for our Caffiene Fix. And what better way to do that than with coffee in our coke?

With our culture veering more and more towards coffee and Starbucks to get us through our mornings, days, and well, Life it makes sense for Coca Cola to do this now. They launched another version of the drink back in 2006 called Coca Cola Blak.

UNITED STATES – APRIL 17: A four-pack of Coca-Cola Blak, the company’s coffee-flavored new beverage, is arranged for a photo in Atlanta, Georgia, Tuesday, April 17, 2007. Coca-Cola Co., the world’s largest soft-drink maker, may say profit rose on the second-biggest sales gain in three years as Europeans bought more no-calorie Coca-Cola Zero soda and the company sold more coffee in Japan. But we just weren’t ready for the taste of it. They think now that we are tastebud ready for the new innovation. They have launched this coke in Australia, Italy, Spain, Thailand and Poland and a few other countries. While they have no official date for the release in America Javier Meza, Coca-Cola’s global chief marketing officer said that “I believe that there’s going to be a space for a Coca-Cola With Coffee” in the United States and that it could reach us as early as Next Year.
