The dawn of a new Canon
If you’ve ever wanted to jump into the Transformers fandom, now is the time. Last Wednesday, Transformers #1 has just been released by IDW publishing, has rebooted the entirety of the comic transformers universe.
As stated by the synopsis of the issue,
“A NEW ERA DAWNS! In the infinite universe, there exists a planet like no other: Cybertron! Home to the Transformers, and a thriving hub for inter-stellar commerce, it is a world brimming with organic and constructed diversity …It is a truly amazing realm, long untouched by war, and exuberantly reaching for the stars… ”
In this issue, we are introduced to a relatively peaceful world, with political unrest flourishing in a society primed for change.

This issue is divided by a meeting between Orion Pax and Megatron as well as the newly forged transformer Rubble being introduced to cybertron by Bumblebee and Windblade.

From the art to the writing, it’s all very charming and and bright – with the story set up being fan friendly as well to new readers. It’s clear that there’s so much more here to explore, so this relatively simple starts hints at this and more.
Transformers #1 is created by Brian Ruckley (Author, Angel Hernandez (Artist, Cover Artist), Gabriel Rodríguez (Cover Artist), Cachet Whitman (Artist and Joana Lafuente (Colorist). Visit your local comic shop, or IDW site to grab your copy today.
