Whatever manufactured ‘controversy’ aside- “Lightyear” is enjoyable, and worth seeing in a theater with your family.

Despite numerous sensationalist headlines popping up to the contrary, Warner Bros. Pictures is not firing Ezra Miller. Yet. We say yet, because each week, new allegations and concerns about the actor come to light. Obviously there were Miller’s arrests for assault, their troubling relationships with minors, and a judge-granted protective order for one family. The current online discourse comes from a recent Deadline report, which includes supposition on the part of WB. The outlet indicates “sources said even if no more allegations surface, the studio won’t likely keep Miller in the Flash role in future DC films.” Which, being honest,…
This just in-following the success of his live-action “Aladdin,” Guy Ritchie will reportedly be helming a live-action “Hercules” for Disney. It’ll be produced by AGBO, owned/operated by Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, aka Marvel Studios’ powerhouse The Russo Brothers.Reports indicate a writer is being sought right now. We know we can’t be alone in hoping The Muses are a BIG part of this adaptation. We’ll let you know what we hear about this and other news. This story is developing…
As we surmised, Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming “The Lord of the Rings” series will have a major presence at San Diego Comic Con 2022. “The Rings of Power” will have a panel in the storied Hall H, legendary among SDCC attendees for major news and surprises. While we don’t think a surprise episode screening is likely, expect something along those lines, maybe. At the very least, a trailer and additional footage. We also don’t know who all will be attending the panel next month, nor which day it’ll be. We will of course let you know what else we hear…
This just in-Seth MacFarlane, who apparently doesn’t like to be idle with his time, has announced a new series for Peacock. The NBC streaming platform will be the home of “The End is Nye,” starring the one and only Bill Nye “The Science Guy.” Hailing from MacFarlane, Brannon Braga, and Nye, the series aims to detail and explain possible world-ending catastrophic occurrences. Peacock will “send Nye into the most epic global disasters imaginable – both natural and unnatural – and then demystifies them using science to show how we can survive, mitigate, and even prevent them. Each stand-alone episode takes a hell-bent dive into the…
This just in- While we’re not getting a redo of the final season of “Game of Thrones,” we ARE getting another spinoff from Westeros. Kit Harrington will be returning as Jon Snow for a series focusing on the newly identified Aegon Targaryen. There isn’t much to go on for this new project yet, as it seems HBO is keeping everything under wraps. This story is developing…
At last, we know what “Shang-Chi” director Destin Daniel Cretton is working on for Disney+! An untitled Marvel Studios project was announced by the House of Mouse streaming service last year, with Cretton at the head. Today, we know a little more about what it’ll be.Cretton will be teaming up with Andrew Guest (“Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) for series based on Marvel Comics character Wonder Man. Guest will serve as head writer, while Cretton is executive producing, as well as possibly directing at least one episode. Wonder Man first appeared back in Avengers #9 in 1964. He did get his own book,…
We are very sorry to share the news that comics artist Tim Sale has passed away. Perhaps best known for his work on “The Long Halloween,” Sale’s work was credited as a major source of inspiration for Matt Reeves’ “The Batman.”Fellow artist and longtime friend Richard Starkings first posted the news. Sale’s official social media accounts shortly thereafter confirmed it. Outpourings of love and shared memories from the comic creator community followed. Our thoughts go out to Sale’s family, friends, and legions of fans at this time. He was 66.
In a world where we had to sit through a second theatrical release of “Morbius,” it makes perfect sense that a third “Venom” film would happen. Star Tom Hardy teased the script on his Instagram, confirming Kelly Marcel’s penning it. Marcel wrote the first two “Venom” films, so at least there’s a nice level of continuity. No telling if Andy Serkis would be returning to direct or not. “Venom: Let There Be Carnage” was highly dysfunctional, just like it’s symbiote anti-hero. But, for whatever reason, it found a loving and loyal audience. Sony still seems hell-bent on creating a true…
This just in- HBO has renewed “Hacks” for a third season! This is great news, because the ending of season 2 left fans unsure about pretty much everything. If you’ll recall, Deborah Vance (Jean Smart) fired Ava (Hannah Einbinder) during the finale. While her motivation was probably to encourage Ava to fly on her own, it was nonetheless a shock. “We congratulate Hacks‘ extraordinarily gifted executive producers and cast, and our partners at Universal Television,” HBO Max Head of Original Content, Sarah Aubrey, said. “We are overjoyed at the audience and press response to the new season, and glad to give…
