We have some exciting breadcrumbs about the latest actor who will play Bond…James Bond. The long-running franchise, based on books by Ian Fleming, will be getting a new entry courtesy of director Denis Villeneuve and writer Steven Knight.

Once Villeneuve wraps on “Dune: Part Three,” he will begin looking for a “fresh face” for “Bond 26.” He is looking for a relatively unknown male actor from the British Isles to fill 007’s shoes. His criteria rule out popular fan castings such as Timothée Chalamet, Glen Powell, Austin Butler, and Jacob Elordi. Because there is not a single Brit in that bunch.
The production is also looking for someone in their late 20s or early 30s. Ruling out even more rumors like Henry Cavill ( 42), Tom Hardy (47), and Idris Elba (53).
For reference, Daniel Craig was the last and 6th actor to play the legendary spy, ending his tenure with “No Time to Die.” However, it is unclear whether this film will opt to work with an actor who shares a similar frame to Craig or take a different direction.
While these criteria aren’t really indicating who it might be, it’s certainly helping us rule out who it won’t be.
We’ll keep you posted on updates about “Bond 26” as the production develops.
