Are you as excited for Edgar Wright’s version of “The Running Man” as we are? Paramount Pictures has just released a very cool behind the scenes training featurette.
The 30-second clip is narrated by Glen Powell (“Twisters”). He talks about how difficult and demanding training for this film was. During the montage of behind the scenes footage, Powell promises the movie is non-stop action. He also says he gets his “ass kicked.”

“The Running Man” takes place in the United States under a brutal totalitarian regime, in the distant year of 2025. Where society has begun to use violent game shows to appease the disenfranchised masses. It follows one man’s plight, desperate to get enough money for his daughter’s surgery. So he joins one of the most popular shows, The Running Man, where teams of killers will hunt him down. The longer he stays alive, the more money he makes. However, the hunters and the show’s crew soon realize he will break every rule to expose the show’s dark secrets.

This movie is based on Stephen King’s 1982 novel of the same name written under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. This story was previously adapted into an Arnold Schwarzenegger-led feature film in 1987.
The new adaptation stars Powell, alongside Oscar nominee Coleman Domingo (“Sing Sing“), Katy O’Brian (“Love Lies Bleeding”), Josh Brolin (“Dune“), and Lee Pace (“Foundation“). Wright will direct from a script he co-wrote with Michael Bacall (“22 Jump Street”).
“The Running Man” hits theaters on November 14, 2025. You can watch the new behind the scenes training featurette below:
