We have some unfortunate news from the set of the next “Highlander” movie. Star Henry Cavill has been injured during pre-production training for the upcoming film. To ensure he fully heals from the undisclosed injury, production has been pushed back, likely to the start of 2026.

The “Highlander” reboot is directed by Chad Stahelski and stars Cavill alongside Russell Crowe, Marisa Abela, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, Dave Bautista, and Max Zhang.
“Highlander” is based on the original 1986 film starring Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery, and Clancy Brown. The plot centers around immortal beings, hunting down one another to collect more power, because “there can be only one.”
Lionsgate initially developed the reboot but now its in the hands of Amazon MGM Studios and United Artists. United Artists has secured the full rights to the original film and could potentially be developing a new series.
We’ll keep you posted on updates about the “Highlander” reboot as the project develops.
