Coldplay Kiss Cam Moment Becomes Etsy Treasure Trove

It’s almost like something out of a bad romantic comedy; a couple goes out to a concert and ends up getting featured on a kiss cam embracing each other. If only it weren’t for the fact that the couple is having an affair it would be romantic! So, the couple immediately tries to hide as quickly as possible but it’s already too late. It’s not a rom-com though, it’s what actually happened after a Coldplay concert Wednesday night and the fallout from it has been swift. Even swifter though to an almost astounding degree, is how the internet marketplace has hopped on this opportunity to make some homemade merch!

There are a LOT items on Etsy you can find just by searching “Coldplay.” It does kind of raise the question about when it’s okay to profit off of the misfortune of others. It’s a case-by-case scenario obviously, but when you’re the CEO of a company and potentially having an affair with the chief of human resources for your company, that’s you know… kind of the last person you should be having an affair with.

Maybe the most truly embarrassing part is how not only were they caught on camera, but Coldplay frontman Chris Martin made an off-the-cuff comment about how their reaction to being on the kiss cam made it appear they were having an affair. He did say that perhaps they were just really shy, but it seems like he hit the nail on the head with his first guess.

Coldplay’s Chris Martin after unknowingly exposing Astronomer CEO’s alleged affair with his HR chief:

Meanwhile, the internet will never cease to be able to capitalize on a viral moment. Considering how many shirts and various other products have been made in just a matter of like, two days, there’s probably going to be a lot more to come. Turns out that concert really may have been the “Adventure of a Lifetime.”

Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and Astronomer human resources chief Kristin Cabot have since been placed on leave as the company launches an investigation.
