Rami Malek won Best Actor at the Academy Awards for his portrayal of Freddie Mercury in the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, but unfortunately, he fell from the stage while carrying his Oscar shortly after Green Book was awarded Best Picture and people began to exit the theater.

He was helped to his feet and seated in the front row, then moved backstage for more privacy. Paramedics were called and spent some time with him before he was released. He did eventually speak with the press and seemed fine in his interviews. He went on to attend the Governor’s Ball where he sprayed fellow partygoers with champagne.

In his acceptance speech Malek said, “I may not have been the obvious choice, but I guess it worked out.”
He also won Best Actor at the Golden Globes, the BAFTA Awards, and the Screen Actors Guild Awards.
