    What are Futures in Crypto?

Due to the volatility of digital asset prices, cryptocurrency trading has become a profitable source of income. Leading cryptocurrency exchanges and platforms allow many tools to make money with cryptocurrencies. You not only can buy crypto but also trade on the spot market and use leverage, margin, futures, or other tools. Let’s take a look at how you can start trading crypto futures and which cryptocurrency exchanges allow this type of trading.

    Futures Contracts

This concept has been around for more than a century when people traded to buy a commodity or asset at a predetermined price at a specific time in the future. With the emergence and development of the cryptocurrency industry, futures have also found a place in this space. Many well-known cryptocurrency exchanges (KuCoin, FTX, WhiteBIT) now offer this option to their users.

Crypto futures trading allows users to speculate on the future price of cryptocurrencies. If future prices are predicted correctly, traders have the opportunity to increase their investment portfolio. It is important to note that futures trading does not necessarily require ownership of an asset. Instead, parties conclude a derivative contract in which the future price of an underlying asset and the contract’s expiration date is fixed.

If you are confident that the price of an asset will rise, you take a “long” position. If you believe the price will fall, you go “short”. Depending on whether your prediction comes true or not, you either get the asset or pay the difference between the current price and the price agreed in the contract. In other words, it is important to analyze crypto assets, their price movements and the market in general.

Here are the steps to start trading futures:

    1. Choose a trading method
    2. Develop a trading plan
    3. Manage your risk
    4. Expand your knowledge
    5. Keep track of the news background.

It is recommended to start trading the most popular cryptocurrencies, such as Bitcoin and Ethereum. BTC futures are available on all major cryptocurrency platforms. They have the most stable long-term growth, so it is easy to predict their value in the future.
