Marvel Studios Reshuffle Entire Movie Release Lineup Again

The juggernaut that is Marvel Studios is not immune to lingering effects of production delays. This is something clearly evident by the slew of changes the Disney-owned studio just announced. We’re probably not done seeing delays and release shakeups, so this isn’t truly surprising, but it does change things.

    “Blade“

Marvel Studios’ daywalking vampire flick “Blade” is likely to be a slam-dunk of a hit. Especially considering how the previous Wesley Snipes-starring films have been fondly remembered in recent years. The film has hit a bit of a snag due to losing director Bassam Tariq,.due to scheduling conflicts. The production has since been halted while a replacement director is found. This has pushed the Mahershala Ali-led title from November 3rd 2023 September 3rd, 2023.

    “Fantastic Four“

Another major move comes from “Fantastic Four.” The first family of Marvel could arguably be the most anticipated film of the next few MCU phases. While “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” helped fuel the fire, the desire for a strong film adaptation of Reed Richards, Sue Storm, and company has been in high demand. Plus, with the Fantastic Four, you get Doom; arguably one of the greatest supervillains in Marvel comics. Originally the film was set for November 8th, 2024. It now is moved to February 14th, 2025. Valentine’s Day. Aww.

    “Deadpool 3“

Nov. 8th is now the premiere date for the yet to be named third Deadpool movie. This will be the character’s official debut as part of Marvel Studios, following the purchase of Fox. The biggest news here being Hugh Jackman‘s return as Wolverine, fulfilling the deepest wishes of many an MCU and X-Men fan alike. Fortunately the extended wait isn’t too long. The new release date of November 8th, 2024 is only two months outside of its original date of September 6th, 2024.

    “Avengers: Secret Wars”

“Avengers: Secret Wars” was supposed to hit November 7th, 2025. We guess it’s not a shock to learn this too has been moved, now bowing May 1st, 2026. “Avengers: Secret Wars” will be to Phase 4, 5, and 6 what “Avengers: Endgame” was to Phase 1, 2, and 3. While a bit frustrating to see it pushed back so far, it does have to make way for everything else that’s setting it up. It also sets it up now to be released almost a year to the day after the film that will proceed it, “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.”
