Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans are eyeing a return to one of their most recognizable comedies. They’re saying a sequel to White Chicks could move forward depending on the performance of Scary Movie 6.
The brothers made the announcement during a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight at CinemaCon, and fans are already paying attention.
“I’ll put it this way; we’re game,” Marlon told ET. Shawn then picked up where he left off, saying, “If this movie does well, a White Chicks 2 can happen.”
It’s a straightforward deal. They’ve made it clear that a sequel to White Chicks is tied directly to the performance of Scary Movie 6.

White Chicks 2 has been talked about since early this year
The momentum actually started building earlier this year. Back in February, on the Rap Attack Official podcast, Marlon said, “If Scary Movie does well, like we hope it does, then we’ll be back real hard next with White Chicks 2.” He also told Good Morning America that fans ask him about the movie every single day, adding, “I think it’s time. Let’s get Scary Movie 6 done, and then we’re gonna go bring out White Chicks 2.”
White Chicks was released in 2004 and quickly became a cult classic, grossing more than $113 million at the box office. A sequel was actually announced by Sony in 2009 before being canceled. So this isn’t the first time fans have gotten their hopes up.
Part of why it’s been delayed is no small feat. Marlon previously disclosed during Kai Cenat’s Mafiathon 3 livestream that they spent “seven hours in makeup every day, and then we work 14 hours after.” With no set turnaround, he also disclosed that “We only got 3 hours every night.”
Possible Casting
There is also some extra speculation about the possible cast. Scary Movie 6 actress Anna Faris shared that she has “pitched myself” for a part in the potential sequel. A sequel to Don’t Be a Menace to South Central While Drinking Your Juice in the Hood (1996) apparently is in the works as well under the same stipulation.
As for Scary Movie 6, it is the first time that Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans have collaborated on the franchise since 1996. The trio are co-writing the film, and also serving as its producers. The film also reunites most of the original cast. With people like Anna Faris, Regina Hall, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott and Anthony Anderson returning.
Everything is on June 5 from here.
