Ever wonder why certain things go out of style? I know that some “grandma” hobbies are still pretty prevalent like knitting and crocheting. But what about the good old fashioned art of bowed-felt hat making? When is the last time you saw anyone rake making? Probably never. And that’s due to its status on the Critically Endangered Crafts list.
The person who highlighted these crafts for me was @ziibiing.com on BlueSky. They said in the post “new bucket list unlocked for my adhd craft friends”. And I suppose my having ADHD was just a happy coincidence, but now I’m am considering getting some Bell Founding materials to add to my giant craft dresser. The same dresser that has all of my other failed project supplies. And lets be clear, they’re not from “failed projects”, just failed supplies because I failed to start any of them…

Here’s a slightly better image of that list for those of you who can’t see because we’re getting older. And if you can see well, you’re our next generation of hope. Please take up an interest in some of these crafts and save the trade!

So what do you think? Will you be taking up any of these crafts anytime soon?
