It’s no secret that Jim Henson’s The Muppets are making a huge comeback. That’s mostly thanks to the revival special of The Muppet Show. Premiering on February 4, 2026 on Disney+ and ABC, it brought Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, and the rest of the gang back to the iconic Muppet Theatre. And now because of that the Muppets are back big time.
Now we’ve got even more Muppet news. It’s been announced the former attraction from Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios, MuppetVision 3D is coming to VR. According to The Daily Dot fans of MuppetVision 3D will be able to experience it on the Apple Vision Pro and other VR headsets. The VR version of the show was fortunately filmed by Disney themselves.

They filmed this before closing the attraction. Thankfully this means that the version we’re going to be experiencing in VR will be the cleanest version possible. It was however originally a 4D production. Similar to most of the other sit in attraction like the Honey I Shrunk the Audience one. Things would happen like bubbles and live action performers hanging about.
Brian Henson was asked in a Q&A session what he thought of the show coming to VR. He said, “it’s better than it not coming to VR.” So that’s a vote of confidence, sort of. Of course be nice to see the attraction come back to Disney World. But since it just closed last year in June, it probably won’t be in the cards for a while. For now though we can look forward to some form of the show coming to VR.
A release date has not been announced.
