Stephen Colbert Says “F.C.C. You” to CBS for Cutting Democrat Senate Candidate Interview

It’s a heated time in the world. From the President Trump controversy to the highly scrutinized Epstein files there’s just a lot of bad energy out there. Now, Stephen Colbert has had it with CBS over what appears to be the censorship of a recent interview he had.

Stephen Colbert says CBS stopped him from airing an interview with Texas Democratic Senate candidate James Talarico. CBS of course denies banning the interview, saying it only provided legal guidance about potential regulatory risks. They cited the FCC “Equal Time” rule that prohibits either party of getting more time broadcast than the other.

Colbert calls B.S. He said that the decision might also reflect political pressure for the broadcaster, especially given tensions involving President Trump and media oversight. So, instead of broadcasting it on TV, Colbert released the interview online.

    ‘F.C.C. You’ says Colbert

“He was supposed to be here, but we were told in no uncertain terms by our network’s lawyers, who called us directly, that we could not have him on the broadcast”

“Then I was told, in some uncertain terms, that not only could I not have him on, I could not mention me not having him on. And because my network clearly doesn’t want us to talk about this, let’s talk about this.”

    Stephen Colbert

Colbert’s show is scheduled to stop airing in May 2026, officially retiring the Late Show” franchise after 33 years. Despite it being one of the highest grossing late night TV shows, Paramount Global says it was a “purely financial decision.”
