Arnold Schwarzenegger Praises Edgar Wright’s “Running Man”

Hollywood has been littered with remakes of popular IPs for decades now, some successful, some not so much. “Running Man” star Arnold Schwarzenegger recently spoke with Edgar Wright about his upcoming remake of the dystopian action film.

In a video posted to Wright’s Instagram, we see the wholesome exchange.

    Schwarzenegger’s Thoughts

“The only movie that I always wanted to have redone of my movies was “Running Man.” So this one really upped it and did exactly that,” Schwarzenegger told Wright. “So, really fantastic.”

The actor and former governor goes on to say “… the action was unbelievable” and “creative.” Wright, clearly flattered by this praise from the star of the 1987 adaptation, keeps on thanking him.

“I think it was funny with the $100 bills,” Schwarzenegger adds. Referring to the currency seen in the film with his face on it.

That’s when Wright and the “Running Man” remake’s star, Glen Powell, gifted him with a novelty oversized $100 bill. Schwarzenegger beams as he holds a massive prop with his own face on it, just in case you didn’t think this could get any more meta.

“This was such a moment,” Wright captioned the video. “A passing of batons between Running Men. Thank you Mr @schwarzenegger for being so kind and generous to our production. And enjoy your very special cash prize!”

Wright also praised Schwarzenegger in another post he made about the meeting.

“Ben Richards meets Ben Richards,” the caption reads. “The legendary @schwarzenegger came to see our new adaptation of @runningmanmovie and gave it a huge thumbs up. I can’t tell you how sweet and generous it has been to have Arnold’s support. He wished us all the luck with our version before we started shooting and loved the finished product. Especially his face on our new currency! Thank YOU, Mr President.”

“Running Man’ hits theaters on November 14th, 2025. You can check out Schwarzenegger and Wright’s meeting below.
