Legendary Pictures is tapping into another classic science fiction franchise for a whole new audience. According to reports, the studio is eyeing the return of space hero Buck Rogers.
Zeb Wells, who wrote the record-breaking Marvel Studios’ flick “Deadpool VS Wolverine,” is penning the script for a “Buck Rogers” film.
The character was first introduced in 1928 in “Armageddon 2419 A.D.,” a novella by Philip Francis Nowlan. In the 70s, Gil Gerard starred across two seasons of NBC’s “Buck Rogers.” Back in 2017, there was a heated fight for the rights to the character and franchise. Following that, a reboot tv series was announced by Legendary back in 2020 with Brian K. Vaughn helming. That didn’t happen. The following year, Legendary announced the project as a movie, with George Clooney as EP. That obviously didn’t happen, either.
