There’s a new record in the world of “Star Wars” items at auction. The last time it was set was in 2023, for the lost filming model of an iconic X-Wing, which sold for $3.135 million at Heritage Auctions. That amount was just surpassed by yet another important part of the galaxy far, far away legacy- Darth Vader’s lightsaber hilt.

This piece was used by David Prowse and Bob Anderson in both “Star Wars: Episode V- The Empire Strikes Back,” and “Star Wars: Episode VI- Return of the Jedi.”
Including the buyer’s premium, the lot sold for an astounding $3,654,000 during Propstore’s current auction. You can see the full listing for it here.
The auction continues through Saturday, September 6th.
