The Best Beginner’s Guide I’ve Found on How to Make Money Blogging

Can we talk about how confusing the internet makes it to actually make money blogging?

I’ve read so many so-called “step-by-step” guides, and most of them either overwhelm you with techy jargon or just throw out vague advice like, “Start a blog and monetize it!” Like… how? With what? Using where? Hello??

So when I stumbled across this post by Maya Waters, on the website “Maya Makes Money”.  I was skeptical—because I’ve been burned before. But within the first few paragraphs, I knew this one was, well, different.

Maya’s post on how to make money blogging is hands-down the most relatable, beginner-friendly, and actually helpful thing I’ve read in months.

She’s a single mom who built her blog from scratch, with no fancy equipment, no tech team, and definitely no silver spoon. And instead of sugarcoating anything, she shares the exact steps she took to turn her blog into a money-maker.

Seriously—if you’ve been wondering how people actually earn cash from blogging (without waiting until they have 100,000 pageviews), Maya spells it all out.

Here’s what you’ll learn in her guide:

    • How to choose a blog topic that actually earns (even if you think “your life isn’t interesting enough”)
    • Which blogging platforms are easiest for beginners (and how to set one up in minutes)
    • The different ways to make money blogging—including affiliate links, sponsored posts, ad networks, and selling your own stuff
    • How to get traffic to your blog without spending a dime on ads
    • Which programs pay the most for beginners (and how to apply without getting rejected)
    • Real-life income examples from her own blog

But what I loved most is how real and down-to-earth Maya is. She doesn’t act like she’s on a yacht in Bali. She’s on her couch with a laptop and a cat—and she’s still making money. So you know it’s doable.

She also doesn’t make you feel bad for not knowing what an affiliate link is or how SEO works. She walks you through everything like a good friend would—one step at a time, no eye rolls, no condescension.

If you’re even thinking about starting a blog—or you already have one that’s collecting dust—read her guide on how to make money blogging. It might be the post that finally gets you going.

Whether you want to earn some extra money on the side, build a full-time income from home, or just prove to yourself you can do something awesome—this post is your starting line.

It’s time to stop scrolling and start building.
