Featuring a killer soundtrack, out of this world animation, and a heart to boot – “KPop Demon Hunters” should be your next great obsession. You don’t need to know anything about K-culture to get swept up in this joyous and hilarious animated treat.
We had the chance to sit down with directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans about bringing the story to life. Also we chatted with Huntrix (the fictional K-pop band) voice actresses Arden Cho, May Hong, and Ji-young Yoo about demon fighting danger and real life danger.
“KPop Demon Hunters” manages to weave together a variety of styles and tones that blend together seamlessly with a soundtrack that doesn’t miss. TWICE members Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung perform one of the pillar songs.
As mentioned there’s no barrier to entry for those unfamiliar with the world of Kpop or K-Dramas. Those who have dipped their toes into that world will find themselves giddily rewarded with the homages.
