“Jaws” Gets Official Coloring Book for 50th Anniversary

This year, Steven Spielberg’s ground-breaking film “Jaws” turns 50, and there is no shortage of fanfare. From theatrical screenings and showings in the water, to games and more, we just can’t get enough of that man-eating shark.

Scholastic has announced they are getting in on the anniversary fun with a new coloring book. We’re going to need a bigger set of colored pencils. And extra red ones, too.

    Scholastic’s “Jaws” Trubute

“The Official Jaws Coloring Book” was created by Zackery Cuevas with illustrations by Alvin Epps. It features 90 pages based on classic scenes from the original summer blockbuster. Showcasing fan-favorite characters, including our beloved shark for readers 12 and up.

“Jaws” is based on a 1974 novel of the same name by Peter Benchley. It centers around a large great white shark wreaking havoc on a small Long Island resort town. Culminating in several locals setting out on a mission to kill it.

Spielberg’s film adaptation became the first true summer blockbuster, the following year. Forever changing the landscape of beaches, and the box office. It stars Roy Scheider, Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, Lorraine Gary, and Murray Hamilton.

“The Official Jaws Coloring Book” is set to relase on April 1st, but you can pre-order yours here. We’ll keep you posted on more 50th-anniversary celebrations/tributes as they are announced.
