“Terrifier 4” Will Reveal Art the Clown’s Origins

“Terrifier” franchise creator Damien Leone may be one of the nicest directors out there. Yesterday was his birthday, and he decided to give fans a present with an exciting update about the upcoming 4th installment. Not only will the new movie be a “satisfying conclusion to the Terrifier saga,” it’ll also give franchise villain Art The Clown (David Howard Thornton) an origin story.

“Thank you all so much for the amazing birthday wishes,” Leone posted on Instagram. “I’m truly blessed to know so many wonderful human beings. I might as well take advantage of this day and give all of the Terrifier fans a little present in return – The script for Terrifier 4 is under way and it is shaping up to be the most epic, horrifying, thrilling, emotional and satisfying conclusion to the Terrifier saga. I’ve personally never been so excited to see one of my own scripts translate to the screen like this one. P.S. I will finally reveal Art’s origin in this entry 😉🤡 Thank you all again”

Thornton is expected to reprise his role as Art The Clown (because otherwise we’d riot). Lauren LaVera is also expected to return as the beloved final girl Sienna Shaw.

Leone’s franchise kicked off in 2016 with “Terrifier,” a film about a homicidal clown stalking Tara (Jenna Kanell) and Victoria (Samantha Scaffidi). The low-budget film took horror hounds by storm and was followed up with “Terrifier 2” in 2022. October 2024 saw the release of “Terrifier 3” which opened at #1 at the box office and became the highest-grossing unrated film of all time.

There is currently no set release window for “Terrifier 4.” But we’ll keep you posted on updates as the film develops. The documentary “Art Attack! The Dissection of Terrifier 3,” will hit streamer Screambox on March 14th.
