Garage Door Openers and Accessories for Sectional Garage Doors – How to Make the Right Choice?

Sectional doors are a universal solution that is very aesthetically pleasing and easy to operate. Additional equipment elements such as automatic controls, photocells or, for example, glazed elements of the door shell increase the comfort of using the door and garage.

Sectional garage doors have become an undisputed market leader in recent years. Their main advantages include convenient operation, full light of the passageway and space-saving access to the driveway and garage. However, these are not the only advantages of this solution. Sectional doors from renowned manufacturers also offer good thermal insulation, are durable and their panels are available in a variety of finishes and colors, making it easy to match the aesthetics of the building. The range of optional accessories also makes it possible to tailor the door you order to your individual needs. Best Garage Door Repair and Service (BGD) provides maintenance and parts for most brands in the USA.

    Tips to Increase Your Security

For the safety of homeowners and their property, DAKO sectional garage doors are fitted as standard with a range of safety features designed to prevent the door leaf from falling uncontrollably in the event of a wire or spring breakage, as well as a panel joint to protect against crushing. However, photocells can also be ordered as an optional extra, which send a signal to the garage door operator to stop the door closing if an obstacle is detected that prevents the door leaf from falling. This is an excellent option for anyone who attaches great importance to safety. Photocells prevent the door from falling down if an object is left in the doorway or if someone accidentally triggers the automatic closing process, e.g. if a car drives into the garage. The purchase of a photocell is particularly worth considering if you have pets or small children who could carelessly try to enter the garage while the door is being lowered.

Convenient Operation – Operators for Sectional Doors

BGD is known as one of the best garage door opener installer in Irvine. We offer a selection of automatic equipment systems from three renowned manufacturers. The use of an automatic garage door system makes it easier to operate the door (enables it to be lowered and raised smoothly) and increases user comfort.

Somfy Dexxo Optimo and Somfy Dexxo Pro garage door openers – a modern and easy-to-program automatic door control system from the popular Somfy brand. The system has a soft-close mechanism of the curtain and is equipped with an overload switch that allows you to precisely adjust the sensitivity of obstacle detection. The door equipped with Somfy automation can be controlled with two- and four-channel remote controls, an internal keypad (for control inside the room) and a code keypad (mounted outside the garage, for control by code). It is also possible to install a GSM module that can be used to open the door via a cell phone. The communication range between the remote control and the garage door operator can be increased by up to one hundred meters using an external antenna. An alarm siren signals an attempt to open the door by an intruder. There are also devices for opening the automatic door in the event of a power failure – emergency battery, manual unlocking and mechanical unlocking.

MARANTEC garage door operator – the motor is equipped with a soft start and stop mechanism and has an automatic closing system. The Marantec sectional door operator can work with a large number of remote controls and allows you to use options such as programming the partial opening of the door or regulating the speed of movement. The system can be controlled via remote controls and a code keypad. As with Somfy garage door operators, the operator can also be retrofitted to open the door in the event of a power failure (manual and mechanical unlocking).

The LiftMaster garage door operator – a side-mounted garage door operator is a good solution for garages where there is little space under the ceiling and there is no possibility of installing a standard solution. The operator for sectional garage doors can be controlled with a four-channel remote control, a wired wall switch or (when using an internal radio keypad) with a wall-mounted remote control. An emergency battery enables the door to be opened in the event of a power failure.

Decorative Elements, Glazing and Openwork Panels

The sectional door leaf can be equipped with special glazing (with a plastic or stainless steel frame) that decorates the door and illuminates the interior of the garage. The door can also be decorated with special decorations – elegant decorative elements made of durable stainless steel, which are glued to the panel from the outside.

    Locks, Handles and Latches

Additional locks (especially for manually opening gates) and handles or latches can also be selected as optional extras. Center and side locks (with a profile cylinder lock, rosette and adjusting pin), cylinder latch locks and side locks can be installed for manually opening gates. A manual bolt, which is attached to the inside of the door housing, prevents the door from being opened from the outside. On the other hand, lifting the manually operated door can be facilitated by a handle (mounted on both sides of the panel) or a handle embedded in the panel on the outside.

    A Wicket Door

The wicket door allows access to the garage without having to lift the door leaf. This is a practical solution, especially in industrial or service buildings (e.g. warehouses or workshops). However, the installation of a wicket door can also be justified in detached houses if, for some reason, the garage is frequently accessed by members of the household. The aesthetics of the wicket door have been designed to harmonize well with the door. The low threshold ensures convenience.

The wide range of design, door guide systems and accessories makes choosing a product easier and allows the chosen product to be tailored to the individual needs of the investor.
