The cast of Amazon MGM Studios’ upcoming live-action “Masters of the Universe” movie is starting to shape up. It has been confirmed that Alison Brie (“GLOW”) will be playing the villainess Evil-Lyn.

Travis Knight directs from a script by Chris Butler, the same duo behind “Kubo and the Two Strings.” Brie will be joining the previously announced Nicholas Galitzine (“The Idea of You”) as He-Man. Alongside Camila Mendes (“Riverdale”) as Teela, the captain of the royal guard and possible love interest for our hero.

Even though this “Masters of the Universe” adaptation has been in development for roughly two decades, plot details are still under wraps. But the premise for the 1980s show it is based around is, that Prince Adam of Eternia can turn into the muscular He-Man, thanks to his Power Sword. With this transformation, he gains superhuman strength and abilities. He-Man and his various allies, help defend the planet from the evils of villain Skeletor and his armies.

The character Evil-Lyn is Skeletor’s second-in-command. She is armed with a wand topped with a crystal orb to practice the dark arts. Making this character a huge departure from Brie’s normal fare in comedies and dramas.

“Masters of the Universe” will hit theaters worldwide on June 5th, 2026.
