Emerald Downs Racetrack kicked off it’s 7th annual T-Rex race over the weekend, inviting tons of new and returning competitors. They had different categories which allowed many entrants to participate. This fan-favorite event transforms the horse racing track into a prehistoric playground as participants wear inflatable Tyrannosaurus Rex costumes and race to the finish line.
The 2024 T-Rex World Championship Races brought around 200 T-Rexes to dash the 100 yards in full costume. A big crowd of 5,393 was in attendance for the days festivities. Races were also held for kids and senior Dinosaurs aged 50+.

Cheyn Tam-Switzer, who lives in Bellevue, and was born in Hawaii won the Open Race. Paislie Thompson from Meridian, ID won the Women’s Race. Thompson works for TriGuard Pest Control who started this race as a team building activity back in 2017.
